“Plié” (January 2024)
“Plié” is a modular clothing system that adapts to various weathers, activities, and needs. Jacket, bag, trousers, bag, and hat. The core of my intention lies in providing an approachable solution to what drives the average person to continuously buy clothes.
It encourages a shift in the behaviours and habits that are anchored within our consumption. Conveying multiple surveys, I identified problematics that ultimately informed the key pillars defining the clothing system. A need for versatility, seeking renewal in outfits. Adaptability to various occasions, whether this be weather or activity-related, and pushing an ability to share items between individuals forward.
These are directly implemented in the various items of clothing, and differentiated into a 3-colour snap system. The snaps are both a fastening method and an instructional guide.
